Meet GOC – AOC’s “hot, gay little brother who runs raves”:

She’s the brand of progressive fire that divides the left and is hated by the right, but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may not be the most outspoken member of her family.

Gabriel Ocasio-Cortez, has been described as AOC’s “hot, gay, rave-host little brother,” in an obscene article published on Saturday by The cup.

Self-proclaimed anti-capitalist Gabriel, 28, who is partially deaf, is also an aspiring musician, promoter, deaf and hard of hearing advocate and former real estate agent who does not shy away from controversy.

“I think the Democratic Party is so bought and paid for. I think both sides are, to be extremely clear. But trust: American businesses succeed, no matter who exactly wins. They may be different sectors, “said Gabriel. Maintenance reviewed last year.

“You have to take corporate money completely out of politics, and then people will see politicians taking real positions that affect our communities, because communities are going to be the number one priority.”

AOC, 32, rose to fame when the young progressive defeated high-ranking incumbent Congressman Joe Crowley to represent New York’s 14th District.

Since the election of the AOC, Gabriel – or GOC – has changed and become more prominent.

He quit real estate because “I couldn’t post open houses… people were waiting outside, and it got to a point where it was really overwhelming,” he told Interview.

GOC, 28, was forced to quit her job and turned to advocacy work after her sister won and now works for a homeless shelter, helps families find housing and founded the Deaf Collection, a nonprofit focused on deaf queer talent.

The GOC admitted that it suspected and feared that his life would change dramatically after nominating his sister for a congressional candidacy: “I remember thinking: this could screw up the hell.”

He feared that his sister’s new job might pose a threat to his safety and his real estate business, which it was.

When AOC was first elected, he got a call from the FBI telling him not to open his mail because people were sending bombs. He worked as much as possible to save money before eventually having to shut down his real estate business.

“It was what I had projected as my worst case scenario,” he said, but he stands by his decision to name his sister saying it was worth all the negative repercussions.

Before the AOC came into power, the GOC “never felt represented in government” and “never felt taken over by the system”.

However, the self-proclaimed anti-capitalist is still very skeptical of government and politics.

“I think the Democratic Party is so bought and paid for. I think both sides are, to be extremely clear. But trust: American businesses succeed, no matter who exactly wins. They may just be different sectors, ”he said.

But he doesn’t say no when asked if he plans to run for office for one day, simply saying the question is “interesting.”

GOC continued, “I would never want to win an election just because of my last name. And I don’t want to encourage and further set the precedent of family dynasties in politics.

“For me, it’s about getting people into a mindset that’s more conducive to building organizations.”

For now, GOC is sticking to its advocacy work and new job as a queer party host / promoter in New York City.

He lost half of his hearing when he was a teenager, which led him to become a deaf and hard of hearing lawyer: “Since we outnumber the queer community, we must strive to reach their level representation, ”he says.

GOC has even been able to combine its advocacy work with its party hosting skills.

The Cut reported that while planning a queer rave earlier this month, he asked for “a light on the dance floor that vibrates to the beat of the music” and got some lighted up drink menus.

His recent profile for The Cut said, “He has the same charm as his sister, although he’s a little more goofy and at times boastful, if not downright arrogant.”

Journalist Brock Colyar spent the night with GOC at one of his queer hosting concerts, and described him as a very sexually positive and attractive person who quickly bounces back on conversations about abolition education for trying to get his fashion designer friends to participate in his parties.

During the party, he reportedly gave an “inspired” speech on political organization and activism: “These are the small changes, these are the changes that aren’t even noticeable, that you wouldn’t think of inviting people to. .

“They teach people: if you want it to hurt, hurt their wallets. But it’s like, if you want to make a point, use their wallet as well. It works in two ways.

Along with her career path, her Instagram has slowly changed since her sister was elected in 2018.

Fine art photos and peaceful snapshots of nature have turned into images with celebrities like Cardi B, Adam Lambert and Bowen Yang and professional footage from her interviews with Interview Magazine, Pop Sugar and The Cut.
