Every House Shaquille O’Neal Has Owned, Past and Present

Even if you’re not a big hoops fan, you probably know the name Shaquille O’Neal. Standing over 7 feet tall, he is the larger-than-life basketball superstar who has played for six teams, won four championships, appeared in movies and TV commercials, and is an analyst on TNT’s “Inside the NBA.”

The 50-year-old Hall of Famer is also busy collecting real estate.

As we jump into the new NBA season, the time seems appropriate to visit all the residences, past and present, belonging to the former Los Angeles Lakers‘ center of the star.

First, the homes that O’Neal currently owns.

Live Big in Texas

One of the dwellings is in the Lone Star State.

He bought the place in May 2022. While it was listed at $1,225,000, the final purchase price is unknown. Built in 2005, this five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom mansion offers 5,269 square feet of living space. It includes a chic home office with a fireplace and multi-level ceiling, a gym, a personal screening room and a three-car garage.

Georgia in his head

O’Neal clearly has a thing for the Peach Tree State, where he owns Three homes in the Atlanta suburb of McDonough.

This particular stunner, above, was bought in 2016 for $1.15 million. With a second, smaller home by the pool, the property totals 7,400 square feet, with eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

There’s also a three-stall barn with a workshop, should O’Neal want to learn the equine art of dressage. The finished basement includes a master suite, 12-seat home theater, craft room, and exercise space.

Another of O’Neal’s McDonough properties is a stunning 9,148 square feet with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. He bought it in February 2020 for $1.125 million. His final McDonough home is much smaller, at 4,635 square feet. It features five bedrooms and four bathrooms and was picked up in July 2021 for just $387,500.

Other mansions

O’Neal also has homes in Florida, California and Nevada.

It currently enjoys a spot about 24 miles from Miami in the town of Davie.

O’Neal added this property to his portfolio in February 2021, paying $2,625,000 for the seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion. The contemporary estate spans 6,511 square feet and features a pool and home theater, amenities that seem standard at many baller homes.

Davie, Florida

On the West Coast, O’Neal has owned a Los Angeles pad for nearly 22 years. He bought the five-bedroom, four-bathroom property with a pool in December 2000 for a relatively bargain price of $654,000.

And in case he wants to check out his restaurants, catch a show or try his hand at craps, he can stop by his Las Vegas property, below, which he acquired in 2021 for 1.9 million of dollars.

This Vegas home was built in 1993.

With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, this 4,824 square foot Vegas estate on land also sports a pretty blue exterior, open layout, master bedroom hidden behind a secret door, pool and putting green in the back .

Say “so long” to Shaq-apulco

There are also many homes that O’Neal bought and sold. He played for two Florida teams during his career, the Orlando Magic and the miami heat— so he had taken root in this southern state.

More recently, he finally severed ties with his famous house “Shaq-apulco” in October 2021. After several price cuts over three years, the Windermere estate was sold for $11 million. The eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom estate was originally listed for $28 million.

The waterfront mansion has finally been sold for 60% off!

This highly customized home has been a tough sell because not everyone wants the initial “S” engraved on their shower door or stair railings.

Plus, it’s massive, at 28,937 square feet and set on 4 acres. It featured a two-story entrance, indoor basketball court, cigar room, dance studio, aquarium room, home theater, and wine bar.

The hoop legend also ditched an eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion on Tony Star Island. The 20,000 square foot mansion was sold for $16 million in June 2009.

Star Island is home to other A-listers such as Gloria Estefan and Sean Combs. O’Neal could blame himself for selling too soon. The house next door is currently on the market for $77 million.

In Mount Dora, north of Orlando, one of O’Neal’s smaller homes fetched $240,000 in March 2014. The 3,904-square-foot home has five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Finally, O’Neal sold two homes in the Los Angeles area, one in Beverly Hills for $6.4 million in 2004 and the other in the almost equally posh gated community of Bell Canyon for $1.85 million. in 2021.
