Retail by MONA, the rental and advisory company guiding tenants and landlords through an evolving retail landscape, today announced that Dubai Watch Week has taken up 4,985 square feet of retail space at the pop-up retail at 875 Washington St. in New York’s Meatpacking District. Dubai Watch Week, an extravagant consumer-focused spectacle intended to shine a light on the oft-overlooked American watch industry, will occupy three units for the event which runs from September 24-25, 2022.
“This building, with its unprecedented and highly visible commercial facade, is extremely attractive to luxury retailers,” said Brandon Singer, CEO of Retail by MONA. “We recently signed Breitling to a long-term lease at 875 Washington and continue to see high-profile retailers take up space in and around this bustling corner of the Meatpacking District.”
A Retail by MONA team led by Brandon Singer in the same way Michael Cody, Suzanne Bernstock and Max Kreince owners represented RRF Real Estate and Raycliff Capital as well as the tenant, Dubai Watch Week. Retailer asking rents in the building are $500 per square foot.
The Dubai Watch Week location will have over 90 feet of total frontage at 875 Washington St. Retail by MONA also represented ownership of securing space for Breitling’s next flagship on the corner of West 14th Street at 875 Washington St. while other retail tenants in the building include Vans and Paige. Both Tesla and Diane von Furstenberg have retail stores directly across from the building.
“The Dubai Watch Week pop-up is the perfect complement to 875 Washington’s high-end retail offering and the team recognized the extraordinary value of hosting their event here,” Singer said. “The incredible foot traffic in the neighborhood will also generate additional awareness for the luxury watch industry.”
Founded in 2015 by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Dubai Watch Week is a biennial event that provides an educational platform with the aim of sharing knowledge, building connections and celebrating watchmaking. A pioneer in the industry, Dubai Watch Week aims to bring communities together and establish itself as a key event on the Dubai calendar. In alternate years, Horology Forum travels to various horological hotspots around the world to conduct candid conversations and expand the community, selecting New York as the location for its 2022 event.
Launched in September 2020 as the retail industry absorbed the impact of a global pandemic, the Retail by MONA team signed over $300 million in retail deals in New York and Miami.
