Debbie Humphries – St George News

June 30, 1953 – January 3, 2022

Deborah Lee Humphries, 68, died on Monday, January 3, 2022. Debbie was born on June 30, 1953 in Riverside, California, to Paul Eugene Montgomery Sr. and Marjorie Ellen Teffeteller Montgomery. She married Norman Steve Humphries on November 26, 1971. They had four children Dani, Tami, Tia and Trent. They then divorced.

Debbie spent the first years of her life in Riverside, California, and several small towns in Arizona, before the family moved to Hurricane, Utah. She returned to Riverside and lived with her Uncle Max and Aunt Hazel and her favorite cousin Randy.

She last returned to Hurricane in sophomore where she met her lifelong friend Virginia Smith (Bernstein). She attended Hurricane Elementary School and Hurricane High School. Debbie worked at her parents’ fruit stand and eventually began making the books for the shop, store, and restaurant while taking care of her mother. She then obtained her real estate agent’s license and has been a real estate agent for the past 30 years. Family has always been the most important thing to Debbie, often referred to as “Family Grandma Grace”. She loved vacations and decorated her house and yard for everyone. His greatest treasures were his four grandchildren. She has never missed a game, a recital or a rodeo.

She is survived by her children: Danielle (Justin) Sorensen, (Cedar City, Utah), Tamara Humphries, (St. George, Utah), Tia (Trevor) Benson, (St. George, Utah), Trenton (Cliff) Humphries, (Denver, Colorado), his bonus daughter Darcy (Korey) Hillyard, (Cedar City, Utah); grandchildren: Ashton Bundy, Troy Bundy, Deven Benson, Payten Benson; her aunt Merlene Montgomery Downing (Bakersfield, Calif.); Siblings: Bonnie (Dan) James (Plymouth, Utah), Linda (Bob) Millay (Riverton, Utah), Julie Montgomery (Central, Utah), Dan (Lori) Montgomery (Ivins, Utah); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, and brothers Rick and Paul Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Hurricane City Cemetery.

Interment will be held in Hurricane City Cemetery on Wednesday January 12, 2022.
