ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla .– Florida Realtors reports that home sales remain strong, last month single-family home sales were up 23% from last year. In places like St. Lucia County, inventory is limited and demand for construction is limited.

“Construction is booming and we need people,” said Steven Dassa, vice president of operations for Mattamy Homes. “And more in Tradition – in Port Saint Lucie, the third fastest growing community in the country.”

About 172 houses are under construction in the community of Manderlie. Next comes a community of 55 and over, followed by eight others.

“Different ages, from young communities to older communities,” said Brian Price, warranty manager at Mattamy Homes.

The company also says it is seeing more clients in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties enjoy more than 40% reduction in housing costs, which equates to jobs ranging from architecture to construction and design. accounting.

“We need trades people, plumbers, electricians. The roofer and the concrete masons, ”said Dassa. “And then we need managers to take care of them, plan them and pay them properly on time.”

Dassa says that as these properties develop, the positions will also increase.

“We will need construction managers, new construction consultants and warranty technicians,” he said.
